#Harrison mixbus 32c v8 software#
I’m only asking because I had a great analog board but now I dont becuase my home caught on fire last year & I lost everything & my wife & I had only been back into our home for about 4months now & I’m trying to get back to that analog sound with plug-ins/software… So with so many software out now that emulates or suppose to emulate that nice warm gritty analog sound it’s hard to figure out what is actually good…Īnother great option is using UAD Harrison plugs. So it is safe to say that the MixBus is not needed when you can get close to the same sound/mix using either Slat Digital or maybe even Waves NLS plug-ins? I find a very similar sound with Slate Digital plugins In this way you have three technologies in a same DAW: Harrison, Ardour and Jackpilot, and three sources of conflict. and yes don't even bother with the base version.I like Harrison Mixbus sound engine but I don´t like ardour, the host DAW where Harrison installed its analog digital modeled sound engine. I totally prefer LUNA, but if I was unable to run LUNA, I think I would give MixBus another try with their latest release.
#Harrison mixbus 32c v8 upgrade#
go right to 32c as there is NO upgrade path! and yes don't even bother with the base version. Harrison also has some pretty cool plugins in their AVA line that I still use on occasion. This was all a couple versions back FWIW. I used a FaderPort 8 with it without any issues at all. Just about any DAW out there beats LUNA in that department.

well unless you are a serious MIDI/VI user. And now with the fairly seamless back-n-forth UAD to Native for the plugins that support it, LUNA jumps way ahead.

more options with tape and to my ears the UA tape stuff sounds much better anyways. It has that whole "LUNA Console" feel to it for sure - compressors and EQ built into every channel/bus. Things done in MB had a "polish" to them with much less effort than I had to go through with Studio One. They also claim to have their own actual "analog summing engine" built into it. I thought the tape sounded great and of course their EQ is wonderful. Well I really liked MixBus 32c when I was using it, but at that time it had some serious issues with Console 1 that neither side was keen into looking into and I liked the Console 1 in Studio One experience better than Mixbus without Console 1 so I gave up on it. Don't think I'd like having to mouse around.ĮDIT: "Quiet hiss" on the demo.not sure I'd get on with that (too many memories from the past! ) Oh, and as far as using the software, I'd be worried about using controllers like the faderport 8, but alas, I'll check into that.

So I guess it's demo with the composition/stems I already have.Īs far as SSL being involved, they make some terrific plugs, wouldn't mind seeing that integrated. Those vids are dry as a martini w/o vermouth, so not really feelin' it with that. This time around, I'm just interested in something that I might like more than having to add a bunch of plugs to get from point A to point B. Not sure that I was impressed by the alleged "sounds better" (is it 20-40% better? ZING if you remember that lol) but it was useless as a real compositional tool. The last time I tried mixbus it was a mess.

I have (from here of course) stuff I already want to use more than likely. Not sure why I'd need to plunk 3 fiddy for something to mix in (I love Studio One) but I'm still colored, interested.įor me, I'm absolutely not interested in all the extras other than the channel strip/bus/mixing (I don't do mastering). Looks like with (admittedly) limited research, you really need to go with the 32. Being a slave to goodies, I have some interest in the software.
